§ 00We're certifying trainers — actively

Teach at the frontier.

Frontier tech moves in months. If you build in it, come teach the next generation to build too — in-house or part-time.

§ 01Why teach here

Three reasons this isn't like other teaching work

Frontier-tech teaching is normally ad hoc — a workshop by whoever was free, at whatever depth they felt like. Ours is the opposite, and that changes what the job actually is.

01

Practitioner pay, and practitioner respect

Teaching here is a builder's craft, not a fallback for people who couldn't get an industry job. We hire people who build the thing they teach, we pay against a published internal band by level and stream, and we expect you to keep building — an instructor who stops practising stops teaching that stream.

02

The module is already built

You are not asked to invent a syllabus, write slides, or design an assessment the night before. The curriculum engine ships a standardized L0–L3 module — labs, projects, assessments, kit list — and keeps it current. You bring the practitioner judgement that makes it land: the war stories, the debugging instinct, the reason industry does it this way.

03

Real hands-on delivery, not slideware

The majority of every session is learners building, with concept taught inside the build at the moment they need it. No recorded courses, no whiteboard-only lectures, no reading slides to a room. If that's not the kind of teaching you want to do, this will be the wrong fit — and we'd rather you knew now.

The one non-negotiable: you keep practising. If you stop building in the field, you stop teaching that stream. It costs us instructors we like, and it is the only way an always-current curriculum stays honest.
§ 02How it works

Six gates, and the bar at every one

We publish the bar rather than hiding it behind a form. Only certified trainers deliver — that single rule is what lets a standardized module run to the same standard in our centre and on a partner campus three cities away.

  1. Apply

Tell us your stream, your experience, your city, and where your work lives — portfolio, GitHub or LinkedIn.

The barA builder, not just a teacher.
  2. Screen

A portfolio review, then a short teach-back: twenty minutes on a topic you choose, to a couple of us. We're watching how you explain, not what you know.

    The barReal, current, hands-on expertise.
  3. Train-the-trainer

Onboarding onto the standardized module and the “teach at the workbench” method — plus full safety training if you're taking a hardware stream.

The barYou understand the module and the CEFTA way of running a room.
  4. Certify

You deliver a sample session to standard. Hardware streams also carry a safety certification before you go near a lab with learners in it.

The barMeets the quality bar — only certified trainers deliver.
  5. Deploy

You take cohorts, either in-house on salary with a kept-full calendar, or part-time alongside your own work, flexing new geographies and peak periods.

The barThe right blend for the learner and for the economics.
  6. QA & retain

Cohort observation, learner outcomes and NPS, and re-certification when your module ships a new edition.

The barContinuous improvement — and we keep the best.

Screening to certification typically takes about two weeks, depending on your availability for the teach-back and the training. If there's no fit at any gate we write back and tell you which one and why — you won't be left wondering.

§ 03Deploy — the two tracks

In-house or part-time. Both are real.

Salaried trainers are more economical when their calendar is kept full; part-time practitioners absorb variability and new-launch peaks. Both certify to identical standard — the standardized module is exactly what makes that safe.

Salaried

In-house

A full teaching load across cohorts, kept utilized by our delivery ops. Salaried, with the curriculum, labs and kit logistics handled around you. This is the track if teaching is what you want to do most weeks.

  • Full-time, salaried
  • A calendar we keep full
  • First call on new editions and new streams
Alongside your job

Part-time

One cohort at a time, on weekends or weekday evenings, alongside the work you already do. Certified to exactly the same standard as in-house trainers — the standardized module is precisely what makes that safe.

  • One cohort at a time
  • Weekends or weekday evenings
  • Same certification, same standard
§ 04What you'd teach

Every stream, the same four levels

Every stream runs the same ladder, so “L2” means the same depth in robotics as in deep learning. You might take one level in one stream, or lead a stream end to end.

L0Discover

The free taster. High energy, total beginners, one working thing by the end.

L1Foundation
12 hrs · 6 sessions

The real basics and a first build that works.

L2Practitioner
40 hrs · 20 sessions

Applied depth and a project a learner can show someone.

L3Mastery
120 hrs · 60 sessions

Portfolio-grade command, ending in a capstone with a live demo.

Our centres

L2 Practitioner and L3 Mastery run on our premises, because they need a real lab.

Partner campuses

L0 Discover and L1 Foundation also run at partner schools and colleges — we bring the equipment, you bring the session.

Corporate training

Gen AI Mastery delivered as custom training for teams, at any of its levels. Usually short, usually well paid.

§ 05What we look for

The bar, stated plainly

We'd rather tell you now than waste your evening on an application.

  • You are currently building in the field — employed, freelancing, or shipping your own work.
  • You can teach the thing you build at the workbench, to someone who has never seen it.
  • You can make a 14-year-old or a college student do rather than watch.
  • You're willing to be certified on our module before taking a cohort alone — subject expertise is the entry ticket, not the qualification.
  • You can commit to a whole cohort. Levels are fixed-length, and a mid-cohort exit is the one thing that genuinely hurts learners.

What we don't require: a teaching qualification, a PhD, or prior classroom experience. We train and certify you on the module — the thing we cannot train is having built the thing.

§ 06Gate 01 · apply

Apply to teach

This is the first gate. Everything except your name, email and stream is optional — a link to your work is worth more to us than a polished CV.

What happens next

Gates 02 and 03

A person reads every application. If there's a fit you'll hear from us within a week — usually to arrange the portfolio review and a twenty-minute teach-back on a topic you pick. If there isn't, we'll still write back and say so.

On compensation

Published bands

Trainer pay follows an internal band by level and stream. We'll tell you the band for your streams in the first conversation rather than asking what you currently earn — the same principle as our course pricing: a published rule, applied the same way to everyone.
